Opportunity knocked and Krista seized it, creating an indoor training facility and outdoor playground to enable pups and their persons to forge or strengthen their relationship and realize their potential. She is a certified professional dog trainer, Pet First Aid / CPCR Instructor, and AKC Evaluator, having over 25 years experience training dogs of all sizes and abilities.
From a youngster, Krista has always had a knack with animals, especially dogs. She has helped friends & family with their pooches as long as she can remember, and started training "officially" in 1996 under the incredible mentorship of Bev Swartz (All Purpose Canines and Tuf-E-Nuf Kennels). Krista has been a K-9 handler and then an Animal Control Officer, as life took her from South Dakota to Las Vegas in 2000, where she continued training service dogs and doing group and private lessons, with some dabbling in agility.
She joined Code 3 Associates and moved to Colorado in 2012, and has been traveling the nation teaching a variety of professionals in the animal welfare industry (animal control, law enforcement, shelters & rescues, first responders, etc.) ever since.
Encompass Canines was started in 2021 because of our belief that dog training should be fun and realistic to each individual - both human and canine. We wanted to provide a safe place for dogs and their humans to learn, grow, and/or play, all in a positive way that fits their needs. Our goal is to enhance the relationship / bond between people and their canine companions, resulting in well behaved partnerships. We wish to shine the light on what each person and their dog wish to do, and can do, through positive training techniques and atmosphere. Check us out, and join the joy!
